"For many Canadian retailers, especially those that live in more remote areas, this is their most important show of the season."

"KNOWSHOW seems to grow every year with more action and more brands. The winter 2013 show was steady on day one with over 300 brands in attendance. We caught up with Show organizer Perry Pugh for the low down."

Read the interview here and a roundup of photos from Day 2 here.

The show was full of focused retailers paying close attention to presentations by reps and, as far as I could tell and from what I was told, writing orders.  Sometimes there would be ten or twelve people sitting in a booth as the rep went through the line.  They were quiet and attentive.

Cut and Show was hard at work during the show running mini interviews with reps from across the spectrum of brands. Hit the jump to see what trends are popping from reps in the trenches of the show.

KNOWSHOW is Canada’s top tradeshow for lifestyle, fashion and action sports brands. And as a big fan of street style, I look forward to attending the show to see what the brands bring to the table in terms of style aesthetics, design innovation, and crazy cool shoes.

I had the chance to hit up the bi-annual KNOWSHOW event this past week at the Vancouver Convention Centre. As per usual, all of my favorite brands and distributors turned up to display some of the illest new streetwear and skate/snowboard gear for the upcoming 2013 seasons.

Check out more photos and reviews from RANDYM here.

Though I've only attended the KnowShow for two seasons, I'm completely honest when I say it's been consistent in delivering the latest trends from the nation's top brands. After being wowed (and frankly overwhelmed) over the 200+ brands at the KnowShow last August, I was excited to be invited back for the F/W 2013 season.

The show itself was a lot bigger than I expected, but overall it was well organized and very well presented. Everywhere I went my eyes kept getting pulled in different directions because there were so many things that caught my attention. I quickly realized how and why the show got its name.

Beats, Crimes and Life

More great stuff from KNOWSHOW. Going into 2013, we’re seeing a continuance of the handcrafted, artisanal, straight-out-the-haberdashery aesthetic — leathers, suede, wood and wool in natural, earthy tones.

Little Fashionisto

Many exciting brands are added every season, which keep me from coming back. The venue was packed with booths and amazing instalments but there were very little time to go to each and every one of them.

Demi Couture

Yesterday’s KNOWSHOW was quite a fun time, especially when you get to recognize familiar faces and sip on complimentary alcoholic beverages.  Aside from that, this season’s KnowShow was filled with a more unique blend of skate and street, whereas last was definitely more skate and snow centric.

The Province

It wasn’t just the goodies on display that put smiles on my face. It was the people. The friendly eyes crinkling back at me, the wide smiles, and the camaraderie that shone out of every interaction. It was a family sharing a common love of the sun, concrete and waves.
